When you want to get an authentic feel of the area you are visiting, you can try out the local restaurants, you can hang out at the local hot spots, and you should attend the events that are going on while you are in town. Branson is a town that always has something to celebrate, and your summer stay has brought you to our Sunset Nightly Rentals doorstep, for which we thank you. And our thanks include this wonderful guide to the top Branson, MO summer events and the resorts or neighborhoods that offer our Missouri retreats nearby, enabling you to have the most comfortable time of your life!
Branson Landing Summer Concert Series
Is there any better way to spend a Saturday night in the summer than attending a free outdoor concert? Even though we live in the Live Entertainment Capital of the World, we can’t really think of much else we like more, and thankfully we don’t have to. The Branson Landing Summer Concert Series has been an annual event for more years than we remember, and although this event doesn’t happen every Saturday, if you happen to be in town May through August, we urge you to attend. Offering stunning views of Lake Taneycomo, the concerts start at 7 PM, which also just happens to be the same time the beer garden opens, so you should manage to stay well hydrated on these lovely summer nights. The stage is set up in front of their Fire & Water Attraction, which, if you haven’t seen in action yet, you should really add it to your itinerary. There are no seats, so be sure to remember to grab a blanket to spread out on the grass for comfort and if you happen to see some lawn chairs, you can bring those to the concert to stay even more comfortable.
Thousand Hills Champions Resort
So, now that you know how your Saturday night will be spent, it’s time to talk about our Sunset Nightly Rentals retreats that are located near Branson Landing. There are many different communities within the Thousand Hills Golf Resort, located just 4 miles down the road from Branson Landing, and our properties can be found in most of them, but for today’s purposes, we want to discuss Thousand Hills Champions Resort. Offering 2-bedroom 2-bath condos, the community provides many amenities, including a pool, a playground, tennis courts, and access to the golf course at an additional cost. Parents of young children especially appreciate the playground as we all know how much excess energy the little darlings have, no matter how much we have tried to tire them out. The condos are warm, welcoming, and filled with light, inviting occupants to relax on screened in balconies after returning home from the concert and soak in the tranquil ambience of Branson under moonlight.
Silver Dollar City’s Summer Celebration
Silver Dollar City may be the nation’s only 19th century themed amusement park, offering living history exhibits, thrilling rides, even an authentic cave to explore, but it is their Summer Celebration that interests us at this moment. The carefree days of June through August are celebrated with new shows and longer hours to play, nostalgic food, and oversized games for the family to play together. Cornhole and checkers are two of the games that have been magnified for your fun and there are many others just waiting for you to re-discover the fun the classic games provide, enhanced due to their jumbo proportions. Also offering their traditional rides, including American Plunge log ride and a Firehouse Splash Yard that will be mighty refreshing in the middle of summer. If you feel yourself starting to get a little warm, you might want to visit Marvel Cave, where temperatures stay wonderfully frosty all year round. Additionally, every night ends with a fireworks and drone show, making it feel like every day in the summer is 4th of July!
Rockwood Resort
Our Rockwood Resort retreats offer as many as 7 bedrooms and space for as many as 21 guests, providing large rooms that give everyone a place to retreat to at the end of the day, proximity to the lake, and a plethora of amenities that will make everyone feel pampered and spoiled. Some may offer little surprises such as a felt topped pool table in its own room, a deep tub that is perfect for soaking away any aches and pains you may be carrying with you, and portable cribs that will give your infant a safe place to sleep. These beautiful homes are located so close to Silver Dollar City (less than 3 miles away) that you may be able to sit out on the patio and watch the fireworks show, assuming your sanctuary is facing in the right direction. Community pool, sports courts, a playground, and a boat slip for your rental, offering another form of transportation for your time in Branson.
Chateau on the Lake 4th of July Celebration
As you can imagine, our all-American city offers plenty of ways to celebrate our nation’s birthday, including the Chateau on the Lake 4th of July Celebration. Offering delicious barbecue as well as sweet treats from the Sweet Shoppe, and of course, fireworks over the lake that will make your heart beat faster as you feel the boom of the fireworks in your soul and see them reflected in the lake below. Don’t ask us to choose between the Sweet Shoppe sweets and the barbecue meal being served, because on this special day, calories shouldn’t matter and choices should be plentiful; isn’t that one of the things our founding fathers fought so hard for?
Chateau Mountain or Chateau Cove
Sunset Nightly Rentals also offers properties in the Chateau Mountain and Chateau Cove communities, a part of the Chateau on the Lake community, and as you make yourself at home in any of our homes here, the luxury you enjoy will make you reluctant to leave at the end of your stay. Will you be able to see the fireworks from your back patio in these stunning homes? We don’t know for sure, but part of the fun of celebrating 4th of July is being a part of the crowd, and since you won’t be far away, it won’t take you long to return home at the conclusion of the show. And before the show begins, if you don’t want to take part in the barbecue, our Chateau homes will offer a propane grill in the backyard so you can engage in your own family barbecue to honor the American spirit on the most American of all holidays. Community amenities include an outdoor and indoor pool, a playground for the littles, and basketball courts for sports enthusiasts of all ages.
Annual Liberty Light Up
It’s back to Branson Landing we go for another bite of the 4th of July apple. Offering its annual Liberty Light Up celebration, 2025 is its 18th one, generally held the day before 4th of July, guests can expect live music, a beer garden that opens at 5:30, and a festive atmosphere that may be enhanced by any sales you shopped at earlier in the day. Branson Landing is famous for its fantastic shops, and of course, there are sales on this wonderful summer day! Ending the night with a choreographed fireworks spectacular that also reflects off the water, this all-American celebration might be your favorite. The music continues after the last colorful explosion has been heard, and as you dance home to your Branson Hills Golf Resort escape at the end of the show, you may find yourself singing to the music you can now only hear in your heart and mind!
Branson Hills Golf Resort
Another Sunset Nightly Rentals community that lies close to Branson Landing (less than 4 miles away) is the Branson Hills Golf Resort. Our homes in this community range between 2 and 4 bedrooms. These spaces are family homes designed to make guests feel comfortable and at home. Fireplaces in the living rooms may not be used during the warm days of summer, or maybe they will, since temperatures can drop down into the 60s after the sun sets. Spacious kitchens are truly the heart of the home, offering name-brand appliances, stone counters, and breakfast bars or center islands at which your kids will enjoy hanging out with mom while dinner is being prepared. Sleep comes easy in tranquil bedrooms, some with their own private patios and primary suites generally offering king beds. Community amenities include access to the Branson Hills Golf Course (it does cost extra), a swimming pool, and tennis courts (free with your rental), ensuring that this July vacation will be one that you never forget.
Branson Wings of Pride
As summer draws to a close, Labor Day Weekend is when Branson Wings of Pride comes to the Branson Airport, an annual air show that brings joy and excitement to anyone who loves planes. Starring fliers from all branches of the military, including the Navy’s Blue Angels, the Marines C-130 plane, the Air Force F22 Raptor Demo Team, and the Army’s Golden Knights skydiving team, this event is one that offers speed, grace, and daredevil adventures that will titillate all watching from seats below. Offering performances from Bob Carlton’s Foxjet Sailplane and the P-51C Mustang “red tail,” the airshow is a dream come true for airplane enthusiasts and will perhaps encourage a love of flight to the next generation. And although much of the excitement will be in the skies, the ground displays will allow visitors to get up close and personal looks at airplanes, helicopters, and in many cases, the pilots who fly both.
Vickery Resorts
Are you surprised that Sunset Nightly Rentals offers properties in Hollister, even though we are firmly entrenched within Branson city limits? You shouldn’t be, as the town of Hollister is so close to our town, it could be considered a bedroom community of Branson, and the Vickery Resort offers the perfect bedrooms in which you will get your best night’s sleep! We actually offer quite a lot of condos in the Vickery Resort Community, each with 3 bedrooms and Table Rock Lake views that will break your heart to leave at the end of your vacation! Large patios furnished with chairs, tables, and barbecue grills will encourage you to spend as much time outside, enjoying views, conversation, and delicious charred meats as you to spend inside watching state of the art televisions, foraging in the refrigerators, and soaking in deep, sometimes jetted tubs. Community amenities include a large resort pool, surrounded by lounge chairs, and of course, everything that lake life has to offer. As you savor the simplicity of lake life after a day of high technology, you will know that your vacation dreams have all come true.
