For many of us, the best way to enjoy the new year is by always planning a trip. Travel makes itchy feet happy, and frequent fliers love to fall in love with vacation destinations all over the world. With that being said, if you’re planning an early 2020 getaway to Branson and a stay in one of our Sunset Nightly Rentals, we’d like to tell you congratulations on a great idea and offer this guide to February events in Branson. If this is your first time visiting, we guarantee that our mountain village will move to the top of your favorite places and your winter Branson getaway will be one to remember!

Branson’s Black Tie Gala Presented by Mercy, February 5th

January is the one month of the year our town takes a little breather, with many of the shows closing down for a few weeks as new ones prepare to be revealed. But as soon as the calendar page flips to February, the fun and games begin, and the Black Tie Gala Presented by Mercy starts the new year out with a bang! Held at the Chateau on the Lake and starting at 5:30, this formal event is the perfect opportunity to recycle your New Year’s Eve duds; no one in Branson saw you wearing them the first time!

Hot Winter Fun Big Show, February 5th

If formal isn’t your style, the Hot Winter Fun Big Show may be the casual event you’ve been dreaming of! Held on the same night as the Black Tie Gala, this show has been a crowd favorite for 26 years, offering some of the best performers in the nation! From your favorite country music to an impressive Elvis tribute performed by Jerry Presley, every minute of the show promises to be the perfect example of what makes Branson special!

Nathan Bryce and Loaded Dice, February 22nd

Crazy Crag’s Cheeky Monkey Bar, located at 120 Montgomery Drive, is the only place to be at 9 PM on February 22nd! This bluesy rock band will bring you out of your seats and onto the dance floor as you celebrate travel, the new year, and the fact that Nathan Bryce and Loaded Dice is one hot band! Proving that a party only needs good music, refreshing beverages, and a crowd of people ready to rock, this event may end up being the highlight of your Branson getaway!

There are 168 hours in a week, 168 hours that you may wonder how you are going to fill during your unforgettable Branson getaway. You’ve probably heard that this is THE place to watch shows performed by some of your favorite artists, but will that be enough to keep you occupied? You may have seen pictures of the beautiful landscape that includes three incredible lakes, but you won’t want to spend every hour exploring their beauty. But what you may never have heard of is our favorite amusement park, Silver Dollar City, and the variety of rides, activities, and events that are held there daily, including the Festival of Wonder at Silver Dollar City.

Festival of Wonder at Silver Dollar City is April 10 Through April 28

Silver Dollar City is often the star of the Branson shows, but during these three weeks in April, our 18th century themed amusement park outdoes itself, offering a selection of events, activities, and even foods that quite possibly will change your life! Featuring talented jugglers, skilled acrobats and artists, musicians, and pogo stunt teams that awe and amaze, you’ll wish you could spend every minute of your trip in the park soaking in the sights! Enjoy comedians that will make you laugh so hard you won’t need to do sit-ups ever again, plus the unique and amazing PaintJam featuring Dan Dunn; this popular artist creates masterpieces in a matter of minutes, right before your eyes! You’ll also find harpists that will give you a new appreciation for heavenly music and acrobats that reach new heights of amazing.

All of this and so much more makes the Festival of Wonder at Silver Dollar City an event you truly won’t want to miss. And as if that isn’t enough, they offer foods that comfort, foods that fill, and foods that will appeal to the inner daredevil you never knew existed, such as a shark or gator kabob!

As the Sun Sets on Another Perfect Day

Your time spent in Branson and at Silver Dollar City is even more special when you choose to stay in one of our Sunset Nightly Rentals vacation escapes. Comfortable, stylish, and designed to envelope you in peace and tranquility, our homes may be the highlight of your already extraordinary Branson getaway!

Everybody loves to celebrate, and those months when there are no special holidays or events can make us sad, but they also make us appreciate the month of March more than we would. Offering a bonanza of holidays in 2019, they add to the excitement of your already jam-packed Branson vacation experience! And because sometimes too much can be overwhelming, we’ve provided a guide to activities you can do at home in your Sunset Nightly Rentals holiday escape and to special events occurring in Branson at the same time!

Mardi Gras, March 5th

The theme of this dazzling holiday is gluttony, excess, and laissez le bon temps rouler (Let the good times roll!), but too much of a good thing may leave you feeling less than capable of enjoying your Branson getaway. So this year, we suggest staying in for the night. No, we’re not suggesting you skip the celebrations, but are offering alternatives to fighting the crowds! Beignets, beads, and booze are the three main ingredients necessary for a great Mardi Gras party, but we think cinnamon rolls from Grandma Ruth’s Cinnamon Rolls, 3000 Green Mountain Drive#108, your own set of pearls or any fancy costume jewelry necklace, and a Hurricane you blended yourself in your Sunset Nightly Rentals kitchen will get the party started out right!

Branson St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th

At 12:01 AM on March 17th a strange thing happens on the big globe on which we all live: Most of the world suddenly becomes Irish! We wake up speaking with an Irish brogue during Branson St. Patrick’s Day, wear only green, and see shamrocks and rainbows everywhere we turn. It truly is a magical occasion, and if you are visiting during this time, there will be tons of bars filled with leprechauns and serving green beer. If you want to get a jump on the celebration, the Hugh’s Music Show features The Luck of the Irish on March 16th! Offering limericks, jigs, and a pot of gold worth $1000 (you can buy a LOT of green beer and bangers and mash with a $1000), everything will come up shamrocks during your Branson holiday getaway!

Earth Hour, March 30th

Coming from humble beginnings, this small but impactful holiday is more about what you can do for the environment than drinking and dancing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time! From 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM, countries all over the world will be flipping the light switch from on to off, saving electricity, energy, and lessening light pollution. When you flip your own switch, you can use this time for a romantic fireside chat with the one you love most!

Branson St. Patrick’s Day, Mardi Gras, and More: Do the March Holidays Right

However you choose to celebrate the March holidays, from Branson St. Patrick’s Day to Mardi Gras every celebration will be a brighter one when you spend it in our Sunset Nightly Rentals vacation escapes! Reserve yours today and spend your Branson vacation in comfort and style.

If you’re looking to do something different this Halloween, why not consider a trip to Branson? Offering the traditional Halloween celebrations—as well as some non-traditional ones—and the opportunity to enjoy one of our town’s most beautiful seasons, Branson is a favorite vacation destination on all fronts. From the mild to the wild to the extra-frightening, there’s no better place to celebrate America’s third favorite holiday than right here in the Ozarks and our Missouri mountain hometown enjoying Branson’s attractions!

Where to Trick or Treat

For families traveling with young children, trick or treating is extremely important, and thankfully, not necessary to forego during your Branson Halloween vacation. Your little goblins have the choice between three different locations, and because at least one of those locations holds its Trick or Treating night earlier, the opportunity to get more candy will make your child extremely happy! This year’s dates haven’t been released yet, but Branson Landing and Branson’s Tanger Outlets traditionally have sponsored trick or treating on Halloween night, while Branson Park and Rec’s Halloween BOOnanza is generally held the Saturday before.

Want to Be Scared?

Every year we say we won’t scream at Branson’s Haunted Screampark, but of course, every year we fail. This Screampark is scary, featuring four different attractions guaranteed to test the strength of your heart! Billed among Branson attractions as the Biggest Halloween Event and located at 236 Wild Valley Way in Branson West, you’ll want to go back again and again and again—if you survive your first visit, of course!

Want to Be REALLY Scared?

Fake ghosts may get your heart pumping, but it’s the real things that will test your mettle, and Branson Ghost and Paranormal Tours offer the opportunity to show what you’re made of! As you walk along the darkened streets of Branson, your guide will take you to the spots where the most restless of spirits are doomed to spend their days and nights.

It’s So Obvious

We almost don’t want to bring up this last activity, but we just can’t help ourselves! You come to Branson for the shows, so why not take in a Halloween themed one? The Hughes Music Show is proud to present the Howling Fun Show, held on October 27th, a Halloween themed show where the guests are invited to wear their most original costumes!

Stay in and Binge Watch Scary Movies and Enjoy Other Branson Attractions

Some of our best Halloween memories occurred after the last goblins and ghouls were tucked in bed dreaming of their All Hallows Eve experiences; we’d “borrow” candy, pour ourselves a drink, and settle in for a long night of binge watching scary movies, just as you can do today in your Sunset Nightly Rentals vacation escape. Our homes offer state of the art electronics, plush furnishings, and a quiet place to binge watch your own favorite spooktaculars— contact us and reserve yours today!

We’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited about summer arriving. There’s always so much to do, and so many more hours to do it in. We still get as giddy as we did as kids on the first day of summer vacation! Staying up late, sleeping in even later, and knowing that we have the entire summer stretching out before us with nothing to do but play; it may not be exactly the same for us today, but a vacation in Branson offers the same kind of excitement. So, if you’re planning to visit us during the summer solstice, to make planning your trip even easier, we’ve created this list of the top Summer Festivals in Branson Missouri you would be crazy to miss during your stay!

Law Enforcement Recognition Week, June 12th through June 16th

Everyone is invited to participate in Law Enforcement Recognition Week, not just law enforcement officers! Honoring the sacrifices and dedication of the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every week, each day brings a new activity. From 5Ks to ice cream socials to shooting competitions to motorcycle training, the fun serves a purpose during this special week!

Choose Branson’s Lip Sync Clash & Concert, June 29th

One of our favorite Branson events in the Branson’s Lip Sync Clash and Concert! The singers may have truly horrible voices, but in a lip sync competition, all that matters is their style! Held at Branson Landing, your vote matters in this zany competition, and the concert that follows features all the songs you loved from the 80s, 90s, and even some of today’s top hits!

Greatest Tribute Bands on Earth: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience, July 8th

The world lost a great entertainer the day that Michael Jackson died, but watching Who’s Bad perform his greatest hits eases the pain a little! Starting at 8PM, you will lose yourself in the music, dancing and singing along to the songs you can never forget the words to, and for a brief moment in time, it will be as if the King of Pop is still around!

Moonlight Madness at Silver Dollar City, July 21st through August 5th

It seems strange to be talking about summer’s end when it has barely even begun, but we all know how quickly time passes when you’re having fun! The summer festivities begin to draw to a close as our favorite theme park stays open until 10 PM; ride the rides by moonlight or join the crowd in at the Street Dance that takes place every night at 8:30 and pretend that you never have to go home again!

2018 Ozark Empire Fair, July 26th through August 4th in Springfield, Missouri

Nothing screams summer louder than a day at the fair. Riding rides, eating cotton candy, and watching the rodeo from the uncomfortable bleachers at the Ozark Empire Fair exemplifies all that is wonderful about a good old-fashioned fair! Located just a short drive from your Sunset Nightly Rentals vacation escape, your summer vacation adventures will be amped up a degree or two when you spend time here!
