Springtime in Branson is one of the most glorious times of the year, and one of the most popular times to visit. Milder temperatures, budding trees, and the colorful beauty of spring flowers pushing their way up through the dark soil of the Ozarks make the landscape appear even more postcard perfect than normal. And after being cooped up inside during the long and snowy winter, spring is also a time we want to get outdoors and play! If you’re visiting during the spring, we’ve compiled this list of the top five spring outdoor activities in Branson to keep you on the go while you’re playing outside!

Take a Walk

Whether you are hiking along paths through Dogwood Canyon or simply walking down the streets of the Strip, just being outside on a glorious spring day can be all the entertainment you need! Enjoy the sounds of nature as the migrating birds return home to roost in their Ozark trees, or the sound of music echoing from behind the doors of the theaters on Highway 76; springtime in Branson is simply amazing and doesn’t have to cost a thing!

Fly Above the Trees

The Vigilante Extreme ZipRider offers an exhilarating zip line experience you just can’t find anywhere else! Lasting over half a mile and reaching speeds of up to 50 miles an hour, the breathtaking views of Branson from over 170 feet up in the air will most likely be the highlight of your entire vacation. And costing only $29 per rider, this zipline ride will be an inexpensive adventure as well!

Silver Dollar City

Nothing says spring more than a roller coaster ride, and the Time Traveler, Silver Dollar City’s newest roller coaster, is scheduled to open this spring! Spin, dive, roll, and speed through time on the fastest, steepest, and tallest spinning coaster in the world. Tickets to Silver Dollar City start at $54 for children and include all the rides you can ride!

Go Fishing

With three major lakes and multiple streams, brooks, and rivers running through it, Branson in the spring is a fisherman’s favorite place! Fishing licenses cost $7 a day, and fishing equipment can be rented at most outdoor stores, including Lilley’s Landing Marina located at 367 River’s Lane in Branson.

Watching the Sun Set Over the Ozarks

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can make your family vacation the one you remember the most over the years, and sitting on the back porch of your Sunset Nightly Rentals cozy cabin  watching the sunset can be the highlight of an already perfect vacation. Pour a glass of wine from the bottle you bought during your tour of the Mount Pleasant Winery, sit back, and prepare for Branson’s best show! Reserve yours today and discover your newest happy place!

We live in Branson year-round, so we’ve always known that our little segment of heaven was one of the best places to visit, but it’s always nice to have some ink to back up our promises, and the New York Times offers some good ink indeed about our Branson attractions. Our hometown was determined to be one of the top 52 places to visit in 2018, and we couldn’t be prouder!

And because we know that the best way to stay relevant is to grow and change, in early January, our newest regional attraction, The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum, located in Springfield, was voted the Best New Attraction in America by USA Today! Life in the Ozarks keeps getting better every day, and if Branson wasn’t on your radar before, it certainly should be now!

Our Family Town Competes with Cosmopolitan International Cities

Because we are a family friendly town, we don’t often get compared to cities in other countries, but that has certainly changed now. Silver Dollar City and its newest roller coaster- Time Traveler, scheduled to open this spring-were mentioned prominently in the NYT article, but our family friendly live entertainment was a factor as well. Considered the live music capital of the world, the extravagant shows in the region never fail to please, and when you combine that with the traditional Ozark friendliness and hospitality, well, we’re surprised this honor didn’t come sooner! East Cape, Los Cabos, and São Tomé were a few of the other winners, and considering there were over 13,000 submissions, we are proud and honored to be chosen.

But What About that Best New Branson Attractions Award?

There’s a lot to be thankful for when living in the Branson area: the Ozark landscape that is both majestic and charming at the same time, the exciting entertainment, and the many attractions that offer fun and adventure at every turn.

The Wonders of Wildlife National Museum is one of the top Branson attractions and according to this accolade, the greatest-attraction to be housed here, and we are excited to share it with you! The galleries, 4D dioramas, and live creatures that reside here offer something for everyone, but the 1.5 million-gallon aquarium is the star of the show; yes, we said 1.5 MILLION gallons, and we do understand how impressive that is!

Dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the natural landscape of the world, the museum is home to fish (35,000 at last count), mammals, reptiles, and over 800 species of birds. With professional, experienced, and caring caretakers to spoil and cherish these creatures, the inhabitants of this exciting museum are sure to live long and happy lives as they teach us the importance of appreciating all that is wonderful about nature.

Because chocolates are nice, but a Valentine’s Day vacation shows how much you really care, a trip to Branson could be just what’s needed to take your relationship to the next level! Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and never more so than on this most romantic day of the year! Let her sleep late as you prepare a simple breakfast of baked goods you purchased ahead of time at the Sunfest Market. For a special treat, a Bloody Mary or mimosa always works, but if you really want to go out, try a BEERmosa—one sip and you both will be hooked!

Couple’s Spa Package

This extended weekend is all about romance and relaxation; booking a couple’s spa package will help you do both at the same time. The Date Night Special offered at City Spatique features a couple’s massage, aromatherapy, and a shea butter treatment for your hands and feet. The only caveat to this is you may feel like a nap afterwards, so make sure to leave time for that in your schedule!

Train Ride Through the Ozarks

Nothing says romance more than a train ride through the beautiful Ozark wilderness in vintage passenger cars with dome tops allowing unparalleled views of the beauty outside! Reserve a dinner ride at sunset or just enjoy a simple afternoon trip that begins at the historic train depot in downtown Branson.

Branson Romantic Getaways Dinner

Put on your finest evening clothes and head to Level 2 Steakhouse for an evening of romance and wonder. These steaks are the best we have ever tasted, and the 40’s gentleman’s club feel of the place will have you ordering martinis and calling each rascal in no time!

Stay in and Fall in Love All Over Again

Sometimes the best way to show you care is by doing absolutely nothing.
