Fall in Branson

We at Sunset Nightly Rentals have spent many hours debating the merits of the different seasons. We love Branson in the fall and the stark beauty of our snow-covered landscape; we adore summer and the opportunities to play in the lakes that surround our mountain village; we celebrate spring, with her budding blooms, milder temperatures, and the fun the circus brings to town.

All of them are marvelous, and all seasons are amazing times to visit, but fall is when the true beauty of the Ozarks comes to life. The fiery beauty of trees whose leaves will soon be shed, the crisp coolness in the air that signifies that the heat of summer is over, and the taste of autumn vegetables harvested and prepared in dishes that make our stomachs smile all combine to make fall unequivocally the best time to visit Branson, Missouri, check out some of the fun things to do in Branson MO during fall!

The Branson Scenic Railway

The stunning beauty of Branson in the fall can be viewed in a variety of ways, but the most adventurous—in our eyes—is a trip on the Branson Scenic Railway. Beginning at the historic train depot in the middle of downtown Branson, you will board the restored vintage train and journey for nearly two hours through some of the most scenic parts of the Ozarks. Ride over rivers, down into canyons, and through the wooded valleys. This is one trip you will never want to end!

Wine Tastings

Nothing tastes better on a chilly autumn day than a nice glass of red wine…or white wine…or even a blush. Let’s just say nothing hits the spot like a wine tasting at our local winery, Stone Hill Winery in nearby Hermann, Missouri! Offering tours, tastings, and a scenic place to get married (Stone Hill is a popular wedding destination spot), this winery has what you need for a lovely experience. You are allowed to pack three bottles in your checked luggage when flying, but don’t let that limit you; the online store allows you to order as many as you like to enjoy long after your unforgettable Branson vacation has ended!

The season ends when the snowfalls start, but fall is the perfect time to enjoy a round of golf engrossed in one of the many courses found in and around Branson. We can’t be held responsible for the distractions caused by the fiery appeal of the scenery that surrounds you, but we do suggest you bring a camera!
