Over those 19 years, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” had the distinction of achieving the highest ratings for every single quarter. Perhaps most notably, he received the Emmy for “Outstanding Comedy, Variety or Music Series.” His late night show was also recognized as “Favorite Late Night Show” by the voters of the annual TV Guide polls.
