Everybody loves to celebrate, and those months when there are no special holidays or events can make us sad, but they also make us appreciate the month of March more than we would. Offering a bonanza of holidays in 2019, they add to the excitement of your already jam-packed Branson vacation experience! And because sometimes too much can be overwhelming, we’ve provided a guide to activities you can do at home in your Sunset Nightly Rentals holiday escape and to special events occurring in Branson at the same time!
Mardi Gras, March 5th
The theme of this dazzling holiday is gluttony, excess, and laissez le bon temps rouler (Let the good times roll!), but too much of a good thing may leave you feeling less than capable of enjoying your Branson getaway. So this year, we suggest staying in for the night. No, we’re not suggesting you skip the celebrations, but are offering alternatives to fighting the crowds! Beignets, beads, and booze are the three main ingredients necessary for a great Mardi Gras party, but we think cinnamon rolls from Grandma Ruth’s Cinnamon Rolls, 3000 Green Mountain Drive#108, your own set of pearls or any fancy costume jewelry necklace, and a Hurricane you blended yourself in your Sunset Nightly Rentals kitchen will get the party started out right!
Branson St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th
At 12:01 AM on March 17th a strange thing happens on the big globe on which we all live: Most of the world suddenly becomes Irish! We wake up speaking with an Irish brogue during Branson St. Patrick’s Day, wear only green, and see shamrocks and rainbows everywhere we turn. It truly is a magical occasion, and if you are visiting during this time, there will be tons of bars filled with leprechauns and serving green beer. If you want to get a jump on the celebration, the Hugh’s Music Show features The Luck of the Irish on March 16th! Offering limericks, jigs, and a pot of gold worth $1000 (you can buy a LOT of green beer and bangers and mash with a $1000), everything will come up shamrocks during your Branson holiday getaway!
Earth Hour, March 30th
Coming from humble beginnings, this small but impactful holiday is more about what you can do for the environment than drinking and dancing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time! From 8:30 PM until 9:30 PM, countries all over the world will be flipping the light switch from on to off, saving electricity, energy, and lessening light pollution. When you flip your own switch, you can use this time for a romantic fireside chat with the one you love most!
